Why I created Defy Perfection

I’m Louise Crockett, an ICF certified business coach with a background in helping entrepreneurs streamline and grow their businesses. After years of running a successful Virtual Assistant business, I saw firsthand how so many business owners were stuck in doing rather than leading.

I knew there had to be a better way.

When I first launched my VA business, I called it The Perfect Assistant. At the time, I thought it was brilliant - who wouldn’t want someone perfect handling their operations? But over time, I realised that perfectionism was my biggest obstacle. I was over-delivering, burning out, and holding myself back, waiting for things to be "just right" before taking action.

That’s why, when I transitioned into coaching, I named my business Defy Perfection - because perfection isn’t the goal, progress is.
